Miley Cyrus’ new song “Mother’s Daughter” is all about women’s empowerment and the song is getting attention from people of all walks of life. Soccer player and World Cup champion Alex Morgan recently shared that she listens to Cyrus’ song to get motivated before a game, and the singer acknowledged her on social media.

In a recent interview with Access, Morgan was asked about her favorite pump up song. The soccer player said that for her Cyrus’s song “Mother’s Daughter” was the go to song before every single game. This is the first time that she revealed this, and Cyrus shared her thoughts on the interview on social media.

Cyrus shared the interview on Twitter and thanked Morgan for making “Mother’s Daughter” her pump up song. The singer added that she hopes women around the world use the song to take back what is theirs- freedom!

In the interview, Morgan admitted that many of the other players listen to songs like “Fight Night.” However, Morgan doesn’t need a song with “crazy music,” and she prefers songs that she can sing along with.

“Mother’s Daughter” is a part of Cyrus’ new EP titled “She Is Coming.” The official music video of the song was released earlier this month on YouTube. Cyrus’ mother had a cameo appearance in the video.

Apart from women’s empowerment, the other messages that the song conveys is about gender identity, sex, freedom, and inclusion, People reported. The lyrics of the song include “I’m nasty, I’m evil,” “Don’t f—with my freedom,” and “I came back to get me some.” The line “ Back up, back up, back up, back up boy” is often repeated.

Cyrus has been promoting her new song on Instagram. The singer shared words that appear in the song like “Feminist AF” online. The song “Mother’s Daughter” has been viewed more than 31 million times as of this writing.
