A Milwaukee man was taken into custody after his four-month-old baby died due to "bleeding on the brain" and "bruising to the abdomen."

The accused, identified as Ramel Echols, informed his wife after he noticed his son, Ky'mir Williams, was vomiting milk and blood. When the mother insisted he call 911, Echols waited and later took the baby to the hospital where the infant was placed on life support.

The hospital authorities stated the baby's injuries, such as "bleeding on the brain" and "bruising to the abdomen", were similar to those seen in high-speed motor vehicle accidents. On Friday, the life support was taken off after the baby failed to respond to the treatment.

Investigations revealed the infant died from severe abuse and the father was taken into custody. Echols was charged with child abuse and neglect, and homicide charges might also be added.

Echols, who is presently in custody, did not offer any explanation to the officers when asked about the baby's injuries, reported FOX6.

A family member of the infant told FOX6 the baby was a bundle of joy to the family and that those involved in the child's death should be punished. Investigation into the case was ongoing.

In a similar incident, a newborn girl's body was found with multiple stab wounds near a temple last month in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Police told the media the infant was wrapped in a shawl when found. Police initially thought the baby was dumped at night and was injured by animals.

However, the autopsy said the baby was stabbed several times with sharp objects, local media Times of India reported. The police stated the baby was delivered at home and the accused may have murdered the infant and dumped her beside the temple.
