Details about the relationship between the missing Colorado mom Kelsey Berreth and her fiancé Patrick Frazee have surfaced. Berreth and Frazee may have ended their relationship as long as almost one year ago, according to CNN.

According to Jodee Garreston, Berreth’s cousin, the couple met online two years ago. At the time, Berreth lived in Washington, and within months of meeting, she moved to Colorado to be with him.

Two friends of Frazee told CNN that he and Berreth ended their relationship months ago. This contradicts what Berreth’s aunt, Tamra Freeman, originally wrote in a Facebook post about the couple’s relationship, saying that they had broken up the same day Berreth went missing.

CNN now reports that according to Freeman, Frazee told her his relationship with Berreth had ended on New Year’s Day 2018. She added that the only contact the two had with each other was regarding their daughter, Kaylee.

Frazee was at Freeman’s home two days before he was arrested, she told the news outlet. According to Freeman, Frazee was concerned about what would happen to his daughter should he be arrested. Freeman told CNN that Frazee had told her that he felt “railroaded” by police as he claimed they were only focusing on him.

Kaylee is currently in the temporary custody of her maternal grandparents. Berreth’s parents have not commented on the case publicly out of the best interest for Kaylee, CNN reports.
