"Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation," starring Tom Cruise, hits theaters on July 31. Paramount

In “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt hangs off the side of a plane, fights bare-chested alongside Rebecca Ferguson and squares off with Alec Baldwin – and that's just the trailer! The first full-length preview for the “Mission: Impossible” franchise’s fifth film was released Monday after a teaser dropped on Sunday. Now fans can start getting excited for the July 31 premiere.

The whole IMF team – Ethan Hunt, William Brandt (Jeremy Renner), Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) and Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) – will reunite to take on the Syndicate, a shadow organization determined to destroy the Impossible Missions Force. The trailer promises some of the franchise's trademark action sequences, such as one where Hunt hangs off of the side of a plane (mid-takeoff) with his bare hands. A teaser Sunday previewing the full-length trailer gathered nearly 3 million views on YouTube.

Cruise and Paramount will be looking for a box-office boost with the latest installment in the franchise. Outside of the “Mission: Impossible” movies, Cruise has not had a breakaway hit since 2005’s “War of the Worlds.” The last entry,“Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” was a return to form for the franchise, raking in $209 million. The previous film, “Mission: Impossible III,” saw a drop at the box office, grossing only $134 million.

Paramount is pulling out all the stops to make sure fans turn out for the July premiere. According to a press release, a Fandango and Movietickets.com presale of tickets for the first showings begins Tuesday. Those who buy tickets during the pre-sale will be able to download an HD copy of any of the first four “Mission: Impossible” films. The offer will be available until Friday.
