“Modern Family” previously cast Adam Devine to play the role of Sarah Hyland’s on-screen love interest.

However, his character Andy has not been seen in the hit ABC TV show since the premiere episode for Season 8. TV Line recently reported that there are still no plans to invite Devine back on the show, but the recent axing of “Workaholics” may make the actor’s schedule more flexible.

In Season 7, Haley and Andy decided to become a couple. However, since they were very far from each other, they found it difficult to make their relationship work. In the end, the couple decided to call it quits because Haley didn’t want to be a hindrance to Andy reaching for his dreams. Previously, Spoilers Guide confirmed that Haley will focus mostly on her career in Season 8. “Haley changes jobs and starts down a new entrepreneurial path, focusing on her career in an attempt to balance out her wobbly romantic life.”

Meanwhile, even though Haley and Andy’s relationship didn’t work out, the co-stars have maintained a close friendship with each other. On her Instagram account, the actress shared a photo with Devine and Chloe Bridges at an event that was organized by the Daily Mail. “They like to look cool and I try my best,” she captioned the photo. Devine also shared a snap with Hyland and thanked his “fictional girlfriend” for presenting his award for Guys Choice Comedy at Spike TV. “I felt like the prettiest girl in school,” he joked.

In other news, “Modern Family” Season 8, episode 6 will feature another confrontation between Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Phil (Ty Burrell). Claire (Julie Bowen) will realize that she and her daughter Alex (Ariel Winter) are not very similar after all.

“Modern Family” Season 8, episode 6 will air on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
