“Modern Family” Season 8, episode 4 will feature the return of Nathan Fillion to primetime television since “Castle” was canceled by ABC earlier this year.

According to the synopsis for “Weathering Heights,” Phil (Ty Burrell) will be invited to appear in the real estate segment for their local news. The patriarch wouldn’t be able to contain his excitement, especially since he will have the chance to meet his favorite weatherman, Rainer Shine (Fillion). Phil will also seek the help of his eldest daughter, Hayley (Sarah Hyland), for the segment. Unfortunately, it seems that Hayley will develop a close friendship with Rainer, leaving Phil to feel like the odd man out.

Meanwhile, Jay (Ed O’Neill) will once again meddle with Manny’s (Rico Rodriguez) life. Since the latter is already preparing for his college interview, Jay will give Manny some tips on how to make his application video more interesting. Previously, Jay tried to talk Luke (Nolan Gould) out of campaigning for president because he wanted Manny to win. Unfortunately, Jay and Gloria’s (Sofia Vergara) attempt didn’t work, and Luke was named as president.

Elsewhere, Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) is not pleased with Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell’s (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) decision to invite a college football player named Dwight (Winston Duke) to stay in their home. In episode 3, Lily is unable to eat properly because Dwight finished her cereal. Unfortunately for her, Cam and Mitchell decide to let Dwight stay with them for as long as possible because of all of the praises they have been getting from the school. In next week’s episode, Lily will finally take matters into her own hands, but it is still unclear how she will handle the situation.

“Modern Family” Season 8, episode 4 will air on ABC on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. ET.
