“Modern Family” Season 8 will soon introduce Cam’s (Eric Stonestreet) ex-boyfriend, Keifth (Kelsey Grammer), in one of its upcoming episodes.

Keifth, whose name is really spelled as such, works as a circus ringmaster. He and Cam were together for several years before the latter fell in love with Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). As of late, it is still unclear why and how Keifth will cross paths with Cam. Mitchell’s reaction to his partner’s reunion with an ex will also be shown in the upcoming installment.

According to People, Grammer was filmed his scenes this week. The episode is expected to air sometime in early January.

Meanwhile, this is the first time that Grammer will be featured in the hit ABC sitcom. However, the five-time Emmy winner has a longstanding connection with the creators of “Modern Family,” Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. The co-creators previously worked with Grammer on “Frasier” and “Back to You,” according to TV Line.

Ahead of Grammer’s appearance, “Modern Family” Season 8 will first release its sixth episode on Wednesday, Nov. 9. In “Grab It,” Cam's relationship with Mitchell becomes rocky when the former decides to hold back information on what his play is really all about. Luckily, Cam and Mitchell always forgive each other for their white lies and little mistakes.

Additionally, Season 8, episode 6 will also feature an awkward encounter between Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Phil (Ty Burrell). The latter is considering becoming a member at the Jay's favorite refuge, and this won’t sit well with him. After all, Jay and Phil have an unpredictable relationship with each other. In addition, Phil’s wife Claire (Julie Bowen) will discover the truth about her influence on her daughter Alex (Ariel Winter).

“Modern Family” Season 8 airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET.
