With one simple tweet, the famed Monica Lewinsky sparked a raging debate on Twitter on Thursday over whether she should buy a Subaru or a Tesla as her next vehicle.

The former White House intern, who gained notoriety for her sexual relations with former President Bill Clinton, received plenty of feedback on Twitter to her car-buying dilemma. The 47-year-old's tweet was so popular, in fact, it resulted in "Subaru" trending nationwide on the social media platform with over 16,000 posts related to Lewinsky's request at press time.

By mid-afternoon, over 3,800 bits of advice were directly given to Lewinsky to help her make her vehicle decision with many Twitter users leaning toward Subaru.

One social media user told Lewinsky to go with Subaru after experiencing financial issues with Elon Musk's electric car company.

Another user also endorsed the Japanese car manufacturer, writing, “You used to live in Portland, so you know that if you get a Subaru you're invisible to police and everyone else on the road Plus, Elon Musk is gross.”

But not everyone agreed that Subaru was the way to go for Lewinsky as some strongly suggested a Tesla model. One user wrote: “Driving a Tesla is like traveling to the future. You look forward to every time you have to drive even if it’s just groceries. You will not regret it!”

Yet another supporter of Tesla told Lewinsky, “Tesla! We’ve had a Model 3 for two years and when people ask how’s the experience, we just say 'magical' ... Just think of it... no more oil changes, no moving parts to break down.”

The responses only continued to get wilder as one Twitter user suggested seeing Tesla the band when he said, “I’d go with Tesla. They’re still a really great live band. Wait...what were we talking about?”

It was unclear at the time of writing which vehicle Lewinsky decided to buy. Over on Twitter, the Subaru vs. Tesla debate rages on.
