A man was shot in the Montbello neighborhood in Denver early on Tuesday morning. He later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

According to a tweet put out by Denver police, a shooting took place around Tuesday midnight at 14900 E. Lackland Place, Montbello. The victim of the shooting was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

"#DPD Officers on scene at 14900 E. Lachland Pl. an adult male was shot and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Unknown condition. No suspect information at this time,” the tweet said.

Denver police wrongly spelled Lackland Place as Lachland PI. in the tweet, but later corrected it. In a follow-up tweet, the police said that the victim had died at the hospital.

The identity of the victim or the details about any suspect(s) has not been revealed. The incident is currently being treated by the police as a homicide and an investigation is underway.

Though the shooter(s) is still at large, police said that there is no threat to the public and that this was an isolated incident.
