  • Nintendo announced "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" in 2019
  • The company has not yet revealed any updates about the game
  • Rumors have it that the game might release in 2022

After several months of information drought on "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2," fans might hear more news about the much-awaited sequel from Nintendo itself. The new updates about the game could arrive as early as June.

The latest information about "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" has come from GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb. On Twitch, Grubb mentioned that the highly anticipated sequel would be present at the E3 2021 in June along with other Nintendo games. The video games reporter has claimed that he is 51% sure that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" will be at Nintendo's E3 2021Direct.

If the game doesn't feature in the event, Nintendo may release details about it in the weeks following this year's E3, he said Tuesday, adding that fans will be able to hear more about it sometime this week. Apparently, Nintendo's event would take place after Xbox and Ubisoft's E3 showcases.

Aside from "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" news, Grubb noted that fans should also expect details about "Metroid." Grubb did not list any other "Zelda" games that Nintendo might showcase at the upcoming E3 event or its other events. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the franchise and fans anticipate many surprises from Nintendo.

Earlier this month, reliable Nintendo insider Zippo claimed that "Breath of the Wild 2" was nearing completion. However, despite this development status, Zippo believed "a release by the end of the year just isn't seeming feasible." The insider added that the game might make an appearance at E3 2021.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2" is among the list of games that have been affected by the current global health crisis. Because of this, the insider claimed that the team needed more time to finish the title. Zippo said the game might be released sometime in the spring of 2022.
