Speaker Nancy Pelosi forgot one of the most important speeches of her political career that she drafted regarding President Donald Trump’s Impeachment on the plane.

Pelosi who had given a deep thought about the allegations that surfaced against Trump in the recent weeks began writing the draft for the speech that could fire a warning shot about things that were in store for President Trump.

She began drafting a response, a bare skeleton of the impeachment speech, on a flight from New York to Washington, which she then forgot on the plane itself. However, all was not lost, as she had organized the entire speech in her head, a source who was familiar with the incident told Reuters.

“She wrote the first draft of her speech that she would give Tuesday, then left it behind,” the source said. “At least she had organized it in her head,” the source was quoted as saying.

Pelosi had resisted the demands of liberals in her party for months, to formally launch an impeachment inquiry. However, as reports of Trump pressurizing Ukrainian president to investigate the son of Former Vice President Joe Biden surfaced, she reversed her stand and formally launched an inquiry.

The U.S Department of Justice has released the transcript of the call between Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Pelosi thought things over on the move during a busy week, deciding if the allegations warranted a shift in her official stand on impeachment, before finally deciding to launch a formal impeachment inquiry.

"Today I'm announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry [...] I'm directing our six committees to proceed with their investigations under that umbrella of an impeachment inquiry. The president must be held accountable, no one is above the law", Pelosi said in her speech on Tuesday.
