A UFO expert claimed that one of NASA’s photos of the Moon showed a massive alien structure inside a crater. Other UFO enthusiasts claim that the object could be an alien spacecraft.

The image of the strange object on the Moon was spotted by the owner of the YouTube channel ufosaboveus. Based on the images shared by the operator of the channel, the object appears to have a slightly triangular shape.

Moreover, a smaller structure appears to be stacked on top of the main object. This suggests that the structure may have different layers. According to the owner of the YouTube channel, the mysterious object could be an alien spacecraft.

Based on the size of the crater, Scott Waring of ET Data Base estimated that the strange object could be about 4 kilometers wide and around 3 kilometers tall.

“Here is an awesome structure dead center in this crater on Earth’s Moon,” Waring wrote in a blog post. “The building has two layers. A thicker triangular 1st floor and a round tubular second floor.”

“Now I say floor, but from the size of this crater, I would estimate the diameter of this structure to be about 4km across,” he continued. “That would make this structure about 3km tall. So there are lots of levels within this huge structure.”

A YouTube user who commented on ufosaboveus’ video identified the crater where the alleged alien structure is in as Erastothenes. According to scientific reports, this is a deep impact crater that was formed after the Moon was hit by a smaller cosmic body such as an asteroid. It is situated between the Mare Imbrium and Sinus Aestuum Mare regions of the Moon.

In other images of the crater taken by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter as well as the missions from the agency’s Apollo program, the object can still be seen at the center of Erastosthenes. However, since the images have been taken from different angles, the object appears differently. Instead of resembling a multi-layered triangular structure, the object just appears like a clump of rock formations in NASA’s other photos.

mountains of the Moon
Most mountains on the Earth are formed as plates collide and the crust buckles. Not so for the Moon, where mountains are formed as a result of impacts as seen by NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University
