Every year, the first Friday of February is celebrated as National Bubble Gum Day to spread awareness about the charity.

In 2006, author Ruth Spiro came up with the Bubble Gum Day to encourage the idea of charity among children. On this day, kids are allowed to chew gum in school only if they make a donation of 50 cents. The money earned from this is used by the school to support a charity of the institution's choice.

This day is not just limited to schools, even libraries, corporates, and community centers promote this day to make children understand the value of kindness.
