The Golden State Warriors are looking to repeat as champions for the second time during their current dynasty. After beating the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals, Golden State has the best odds to win the 2023 NBA Finals.

The Warriors have been pegged as the clear favorites to win the title in the 2022-2023 NBA season with +500 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. The latest championship was Golden State’s fourth in the last eight seasons.

The Celtics, Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks are in a three-way tie for second with +700 championship odds. The Los Angeles Clippers (+750) and Phoenix Suns (+950) are considered to be Golden State’s biggest threats in the Western Conference.

Golden State’s championship roster is set to remain largely intact for next season. The Warriors' top-five scorers in the playoffs are all still under contract. Otto Porter Jr., Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II are Golden State’s best players who are headed for free agency.

As long as Stephen Curry stays healthy, the Warriors should be championship contenders. Curry won the NBA Finals MVP award with averages of 31.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, easily outperforming every other player in the series. The greatest shooter of all time hit 41.8% from three-point range against Boston’s No. 1 ranked defense.

Klay Thompson is on track to be healthy for a full season for the first time in three years. Thompson returned in January after a 30-month absence due to a pair of serious injuries.

Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole are all set to be back for the 2022-2023 season. Wiggins and Poole averaged a combined 33.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in their first playoff run with Golden State.

The Warriors have appeared in six of the last eight NBA Finals. Their only absence came in 2020 and 2021 when Thompson was hurt and didn't play all year. Curry was limited to five games in the 2019-2020 season.

Golden State won consecutive championships in 2017 and 2018. If the Warriors didn’t blow a 3-1 series lead in the 2016 NBA Finals, they would’ve won four straight titles.

Prior to the Warriors, the 2013 Miami Heat were the last team to successfully repeat as NBA champions.
