There’s nothing more empowering than strutting a confident walk in front of thousands of people while carrying the prestigious WWE championship belt. The sheer size, design, and material of the belt scream dominance as an athlete and as a performer.

The Milwaukee Bucks have started a WWE-inspired routine before a game that features reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, sharpshooter Wesley Mathews and big man Robin Lopez. It’s usually the duo of Antetokounmpo and Mathews teaming up in a backstage assault towards Lopez. They’ve expanded this routine to jumping the mascots of opposing teams – a nod to Lopez’s beef against unsuspecting mascots.

Giannis recently carried the WWE championship belt in their matchup against the Washington Wizards. The Bucks initiated a backstage brawl against G-Wiz, the Wizards’ mascot. The Bucks won the falls count anywhere match and the game against the Wizards, 137-134.

This caused Drake to respond during the Toronto Raptors’ recent matchup against the Bucks. While the Bucks took the win, 108-97, Drake still managed to draw attention for the team. Drake is a multiple-time Grammy winner but also an avid Raptors fan. In the battle of the top two teams of the Eastern Conference, he entered the arena wearing two WWE championship belts on his shoulders.

The WWE took notice of the back and forth affair of the Bucks and the Raptors and chipped in on Twitter. They shared the video of the Bucks’ attack on G-Wiz and speculated that the reigning MVP of the NBA might be ready to take his skills to the ring.

But with Drake pulling up as a double champion, the wrestling company soon noted of the latest development.

The Bucks and Raptors are the favored to battle it out deep in the Eastern Conference of the NBA playoffs. The Bucks are number one in the league and were the first to clinch their postseason spot – the fastest in NBA history to do so. Despite the Bucks’ dominance, the Raptors have proven time and time again that they’re the defending champions and are still a force to be reckoned with.
