  • An “anonymous” Twitter user defends Knicks owner James Dolan
  • Bryan Colangelo was guilty of using a burner account last year
  • The Knicks are currently the NBA’s worst team in the standings

After the former Philadelphia 76ers’ General Manager Bryan Colangelo controversy, it looks like that another high-ranked NBA executive is resorting to the same thing to protect their identity and say nothing but praises.

Several reports have surfaced that a Twitter account that did nothing but to defend New York Knicks’ owner James Dolan is starting to become an act of self-defense as some Twitter users believe that the controversial team owner is using a burner account to bring his name up as the good guy.

Reports from Awful Announcing said that the Twitter username @DalyJohnathan started posting tweets on December 11 and all posts were about rebuttals to people who are being critical of the Knicks and Dolan himself. Some of the tweets that caught the eye of the unforgiving internet world are the following:

“James Dolan does not have much to work with. You should be thankful he’s been even this successful with incompetent help” – Johnathan Daly (@DalyJohnathan)

A Twitter account posted a very critical tweet regarding the situation of the Knicks’ front office, and “Johnathan Daly” responded with this:

“How is James Dolan the problem?” — Johnathan Daly (@DalyJohnathan) December 11, 2019

“James Dolan actually knows basketball. Jerry Jones knows nothing about football. Knicks fans should be thankful for an owner like Dolan.” — Johnathan Daly (@DalyJohnathan) December 11, 2019

“That’s completely false. James Dolan has had to overcome a lot in his life and is a solid owner. I am a Knicks fan and am thankful for Dolan.” — Johnathan Daly (@DalyJohnathan) December 11, 2019

“James Dolan is doing what he can with the doofuses around him in the front office holding the team down. Dolan is not the problem – I, as a Knicks fan, am a fan of James Dolan. Get him some competent front office help and he will bring a championship to New York!” — Johnathan Daly (@DalyJohnathan) December 11, 2019

“Another delusional hire by GM Mills. Maybe let James Dolan start making the hires. He seems to know a thing about making money and winning games.” — Johnathan Daly (@DalyJohnathan) December 11, 2019

The Twitter user is also giving out a tongue-lashing comment about the Knicks’ guard Frank Ntilikina, saying that Dolan would have picked Donovan Mitchell in the 2017 NBA Draft and not the defensive-minded guard from France, and blaming team GM Steve Mills for the mistake.

The account is now deleted and can no longer be accessed but some Twitter users had screenshots of some tweets posted by the “anonymous” Dolan supporter.
