The Boston Celtics find themselves in rebuild mode with Kyrie Irving and Al Horford headed into free agency. However, there is at least one more veteran player on their end exiting in Aaron Baynes. The seven-year big man was traded together with the Celts' 24th round pick to Phoenix in exchange for the Suns' 2020 first-round pick (via the Milwaukee Bucks).

According to ESPN, the Suns used that 24th pick to select Ty Jerome. It was the same pick that the Celtics acquired together with the 33rd pick from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the 20th overall pick. The Sixers picked Matisse Thybulle with the 20th pick in what was a busy week of moving for team president Danny Ainge and company.

As far as Baynes is concerned, Boston finally found a taker for the 32-year-old Australian who was undrafted in 2009. Unless the Suns end up waiving or moving him, Phoenix will be the 6-foot-10 center's fourth ballclub. He first played for the San Antonio Spurs in 2013, suited up for the Detroit Pistons from 2015-17 before moving to the Celtics in 2017. Baynes had opted in on his $5.4 million player option before the trade was made.

The deal gives the Celtics added relief with $25.8 million in room under the cap. That could increase to $34 million if restricted free agent Terry Rozier moves out as well. Baynes is likely to be DeAndre Ayton's chief reliever next season, meaning Richaun Holmes could be bumped out of the rotation of big men.

As far as the 2019 NBA Draft is concerned, Boston used their 14th pick to select Romeo Langford. He is a 6-foot-6 guard from the Indiana Hoosiers who finished sixth in freshman scoring with 16.5 points per game. Apparently, head coach Brad Stevens sees good things in Langford, believing he carries a lot of things that can translate to the NBA.

The Suns were busy as well during the 2019 NBA draft. They selected Jarrett Culver with the sixth overall pick but later on traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Dario Saric and the no. 11 pick. Phoenix also sent T.J. Warren to the Indiana Pacers along with the no. 32 pick (The pick was used to select Stanford forward KZ Okpala.) for cash, NBA.com reported. The move was seen to give Phoenix additional cap space. The trade will not be finalized until July 6 due to salary cap reasons.
