Lonzo Ball is out for the season due to an ankle injury, but the developments surrounding the rising young Los Angeles Lakers guard has not stopped. In fact, the latest on Ball is reportedly cutting ties with Big Baller Brand for not adequately accounting the whereabouts of roughly $1.5 million.

According to ESPN, Ball cut ties with Alan Foster, the co-founder of Big Baller Brand, for the missing funds from the 21-year-old's personal and business accounts. The situation even became more interesting with Foster, a close family friend to the Ball family, allegedly having some criminal history.

Aside from the financial side of things, there are other things worth noting. With most speculating on the convenience of Big Baller Brand, Ball's injuries have now entered the picture. The most high profile case is of course Ball's ankle injury which eventually shut him out for the season, the Silver Screen and Roll reported.

Ball has been hampered by ankle-related injuries. The latest one is his third and now the Lakers are looking into the possibility that the Big Baller Brand shoes may be the root of the issue.

Ball's original shoe model didn't really hit the market well. In fact, the first edition was scrapped and remodeled, leading some to believe that the shoes were far from comfortable. Proof of this is that Ball even went on to play wearing other shoe brands - including LeBron James' signature shoes at times.

"If I didn’t play in [his signature BBB shoes], I’d play in Kobe [Bryant’s signature Nike shoe]. I work out in [LeBron James’ signature Nike shoe], but that’s because they’re heavier,” said Ball.

Moving forward, Ball said that he would be open to changing the shoes he wears when he takes the court if the Lakers asked him to. The whole issue may be minor but seeing how it has seemingly affected Ball and his ability to stay healthy in his young NBA career makes the shoes he wears something worth looking into.

With Lonzo Ball considered the next big star of the Lakers, looking out for his welfare is an obvious need. Most know what he can do inside the court, how he can become one of the top floor leaders in the NBA. And from the looks of it, one prime requirement is to find the right shoes to make sure he carries out exemplary performances every night.
