  • The Sacramento Kings are currently out of the playoff race
  • They are reportedly sold in keeping their current starting shooting guard
  • They will match any offer from other NBA teams just to keep Bogdan Bogdanovic

While the NBA season is on hold due to the coronavirus, multiple teams are already preparing for the upcoming offseason. One of these teams includes the Sacramento Kings who made it clear that their priority is to keep shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic. The Kings currently have a 28-36 record in the standings and sits at 11th place in the Western Conference.

Individually, the season has been going well for Bogdanovic with the numbers he has been putting up. Despite the team chasing the eighth seed for a postseason berth, the six-foot-six shooting guard has been a consistent threat for the Kings' opponents.

The Serbian shooter is averaging 14.5 points an outing to go along with 43.3% from the field and boasting a 36.1 percentage from beyond the arc. Bogdanovic has taken leaps from his rookie year and has made headlines as the team’s starting guard after taking the spot of leading scorer Buddy Hield.

As reported by Jason Jones from The Athletic, Bogdanovic is one of the players the front office would want to keep. By way of Bleacher Report, Jones said that the Kings' management would counter any offer from other teams.

"Re-signing restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic will be the top priority. The Kings intend to match any offer sheet from another team, should Bogdanovic sign one,” Jones said.

With Bogdanovic as a key player in their roster, the Kings are looking to add more muscle and length to help on the defensive end.

“If Bogdanovic is taken care of, look for the Kings to seek out help defensively, especially on the wing. The Kings do not have enough size on the perimeter and could use some players in the 6-foot-8 range who can play either forward spot, " he reported.

The Kings currently have a young lineup with rising stars such as De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III. While the team shows promise, there are other aspects that have drawn concern. One of these includes managing Hield who is coming off the bench.

It has been reported that the Hield is unhappy with his role with the organization. Despite the possibility of their top scorer leaving, the Kings remain sold with keeping Bogdanovic as an integral member of the team.
