Zion Williamson is undoubtedly the top prospect for the 2019 NBA Draft and the Phoenix Suns are looming as his potential destination. And from the looks of it, the 18-year-old phenom is ready to team up with the likes of DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker.

Williamson posted on social media that Phoenix is the place he wants to be. This came moments after the Duke Blue Devils bowed to Michigan State, 67-68, USA Today reported. That post has since been deleted although there is no question that his imminent coming to the Suns would make Phoenix an automatic playoff contender.

Well, why wouldn't he? He has been likened to LeBron James and Charles Barkley and looms as a great compliment to Booker. Zion can make life easier for the veteran guard, doing his damage inside the paint and/or getting fed down low. Together with Ayton, they form one of the dangerous frontlines in the NBA should he end up getting drafted by the Suns, Valley of the Suns reported.

Speaking of Ayton, he too is excited about potentially partnering with the 18-year-old cager. In fact, he admitted even creating a Zion on NBA 2K months ago, somehow showing how dangerous the Suns will be next season if they do end up being teammates.

But of course, there are other teams hot on Williamson’s trail. This includes the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers, two other teams who have not-so-great 2018-19 NBA seasons.

With the Knicks, life could be doubly hard for Williamson. He would lack the necessary support, meaning it could be a frustrating stop unless the Knicks are able to bring in a superstar who can both mentor and blend in with Zion.

For the Cavs, the scenario is pretty much the same. One can just imagine how he can play alongside Colin Sexton but there does not seem to be anyone else. Kevin Love, often injured, would have been a great partner although the many-time All-Star is aging and missing plenty of games due to injury.

With the Blue Devils out, most are now speculating on when Williamson will end up. It does overshadow the March Madness craze at the moment with the 18-year-old left out in the cold following their elimination.

Zion Williamson’s next stop will depend on the luck of the draw. The Suns have chances but so do other teams who are hoping to bump up their roster for next year’s NBA wars.
