KEY POINTS

  • Andre Iguodala has not played a game yet this season with the Memphis Grizzlies
  • The Dallas Mavericks can use the services of the former Finals MVP
  • Andre Iguodala can shoot from the outside and is a threat on the defensive end

The trade deadline is getting closer and closer as teams have been trying to find the best fit for their team. February 6 will mark various changes around the league as contending playoff squads aim to deepen their roster in the pivotal stretch ahead.

As shared by Bleacher Report, there are talks going around the league that could involve a former Finals MVP in the mix. One of the teams interested in the services of the 2015 Finals MVP is the Dallas Mavericks. It was reported in ESPN that the Mavericks are a fallback option for Andre Iguodala, offering Courtney Lee and the 2020 second-round pick.

The Mavericks are in need of a veteran presence in the wing position as the team is aiming to climb back up the standings. The Luka Doncic-led squad is currently in the sixth seed of the Western Conference with a 29-18 record.

Andre Iguodala of the Memphis Grizzlies has not played a game for his current team. The small forward and the Memphis Grizzlies have reached a mutual agreement regarding his status with the team – putting him on the trade market as the team rebuilds. This means he could work out and train on his own while the organization finds a good trade option for him.

The former All-Star has been one of the bigger names in the market. He serves as an asset to any team looking for a deep playoff push. Prior to his stint with the Golden State Warriors, Andre Iguodala was a prolific high-flyer for the Philadelphia 76ers. He had a brief stint with the Denver Nuggets before he found a home with the Golden State Warriors.

He’s used as a threat from the outside, hitting clutch shots and dependable shooting during his stint with the dynasty. But what stands out the most in Andre Iguodala’s game is his elite perimeter defense.

He was named the Finals MVP during the Warriors’ championship campaign in the 2015 season. He was given the award due to his consistency on the defensive end with Lebron James as his assignment.
