The Golden State Warriors undoubtedly have three stars that deserve feting and it appears their lucrative deals are just one part of it. Similar to other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, team owner Joe Lacob reportedly plans to erect status honoring players who were behind the Dubs' NBA success.

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, the Dubs' big three, are candidates to have statues erected in the future. With the Warriors moving to the Chase Center this coming NBA season, this is likely the place where these monuments will be put up. Lacob discussed this with Larry Beil of the "With Authority" podcast.

"When Draymond signed his extension this summer, he called me to say thank you," Lacob said. "And before he could say anything else, I said 'I only have one word to say to you' and there was a long pause."

"And he said 'What's that?' Statue."

As of this writing, there is no official word on whether this will push through and when. Only time will tell but with or without statues honoring them, there is no question that the original Big Three of Dub City will be best remembered as one of the most successful core trios ever to play in the NBA.

Green, one of the do-it-your-all kind of player, agreed to a four-year contract extension earlier this month, quashing all questions on where he would stay or leave the Golden State Warriors next summer according to Sham Charania of The Athletic citing sources.

The Warriors are now in semi-rebuilding mode following the exit of Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston. Stephen Curry will still be around but the Dubs will miss the services of Klay Thompson who is recovering from an injury. There is no official word yet on whether one-half of the Dub Brothers can return this 2019-20 NBA season.

On paper, the Dubs are severely undermanned. They did take in D'Angelo Russell, a move most see as a way to offset the absence of Thompson. They will have new faces like Willie Cauley-Stein to fill in the center position left by DeMarcus Cousins plus some returning young faces like Kevon Looney. With a souped-up Western Conference, the Dubs vow to still be up there and compete with the new powerhouses like the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers.
