"NCIS" Season 18 Episode 3 focuses on Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Tobias Fornell’s (Joe Spano) partnership as they go after a drug kingpin. The threat is far from over and Gibbs must find the person who has negatively impacted Fornell’s daughter Emily’s life.

The third episode of the eighteenth season of "NCIS" is titled “Blood and Treasure” and fans are informed that the case of the week takes Gibbs and the rest of his team to some sort of treasure hunt. As per the preview and spoilers, the exciting new plot follows a victim who swallowed a treasure map. Diona Reasonover’s Kasie Hines informs Gibbs about the map that probably depicts the route to two million dollars.

Apart from the riches and a map, there is a killer who is on a treasure hunt. In order to catch the killer, the team is going to go on the quest too and if they find it, they might just get to keep the fortune. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait for two weeks to watch a rather-fun episode featuring the one-of-a-kind adventure.

The official synopsis for the next chapter of the series teases the discovery of two dead bodies in a forest. As the team digs deeper, they are led to what is described as a “wild world of modern-day treasure hunting.”

Apart from the case of the week, "NCIS" Season 18 Episode 3 will also see Fornell and Gibbs continue their search for the opioid drug lord, who was supplying the drugs to Fornell’s daughter. This part of the storyline ties in with the story of the opening episode of the ongoing season.

“The discovery of two dead bodies in a forest leads the NCIS team into the wild world of modern-day treasure hunting. Also, Gibbs and Fornell get deeper into their search for the opioid kingpin,” teases the official synopsis.

Meanwhile, "NCIS" just aired its landmark 400th episode this Tuesday. Titled "Everything Starts Somewhere," the segment looked at the very first case Gibbs and Ducky (David McCallum) solved together. The pair reunited when it resurfaced four decades later on Gibbs and his late wife’s 20th wedding anniversary.
