An Amber Alert was issued for a missing 1-year-old baby girl in New Mexico on Sunday evening.

Authorities said the child was abducted by her biological mother, identified as 30-year-old Michelle Nolasco.

The infant, Mia Nolasco, was last seen Sunday in Grants. The baby was wearing red pajamas with polka dots at the time of her disappearance. The police said Michelle does not have legal custody of Mia. It remains unclear where the mother took the child, NBC-affiliated KOB4 reported.

Authorities described Mia as approximately 29 inches tall, 19 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Michelle has been described as 4-feet-11-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with bro hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, grey sweatpants, and was carrying a pink backpack purse, according to missingkids.org.

Mia is believed to be in danger if not located. Other details about the case have not been revealed.

The police urged the public to come forward with any information about the baby and the mother. Those with any lead can call the Grants Police Department at (505) 287-4404 or dial 911.
