As with last week, the crop of new streaming originals from the major platforms is quite slim this weekend. Hulu and Amazon are completely out of the game, with Netflix taking up the banner by offering a handful of smaller but no less interesting new titles. Elsewhere, HBO has a new stand-up special sure to excite fans of Hulu’s new show, “Ramy.”

Netflix

“Exhibit A,” Season 1:

Hailing from Kelly Loudenberg, creator of another Netflix true crime docuseries “The Confession Tapes,” this new series focuses on the flaws in the forensic sciences that lead to false convictions of innocent people.

“Dope” Season 3:

Another crime-focused docuseries makes its way to Netflix with the third season of “Dope,” the original series which explores the ongoing drug wars in the U.S., Mexico, and abroad by covering all sides of the story: the cartels, the police, and the everyday people hooked on the product. Based on the trailer for the new season, it looks like the show will be taking a look into Mexico’s deadly Sinaloa cartel, as well as at the people struggling with fentanyl, one of the major substances in the ongoing opioid crisis.

“The Chosen One,” miniseries:

One of the latest programs out Netflix’s commitment to foreign productions, “The Chosen One” is a Brazilian series focused on a group of doctors who struggling with a faith healer as they attempt to bring a cure for the Zika to a remote village. Watch the trailer here.

HBO

“Ramy Youssef: Feelings,” special:

Premiering on Saturday, “Feelings” is the debut stand-up special from Ramy Youssef, the creator and star of the acclaimed Hulu series “Ramy.”
