Newly-married couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers said they are looking forward to having children soon.

The couple, who met and got engaged during Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” in 2016 said they are ready for the “next chapter” in their lives after getting married last week.

"We waited so long for this moment," Fletcher, 31, told People in an exclusive interview. "Jordan has been my fiancé for so long it's going to be so fun to be calling him my husband! And we're so ready for the next chapter."

"We were supposed to get married in 2020 and then we were going to wait a year or two before having kids. Now that we've had the couple of years, I think the conversation of starting to plan our family is at the forefront of our lives,” Fletcher explained. “I'm a new aunt and Jordan is about to be a new uncle and the idea of kids is something that's really exciting to me."

Fletcher and Rodgers said “I do” in a ceremony on May 14 at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, California after a six-year engagement and two wedding postponements owing to the pandemic.

After getting engaged on the show, the pair originally planned to get married in May 2020. When pandemic hit, the couple pushed their wedding date to May 2021 before re-scheduling it to May this year.

Rodgers told the outlet that the long engagement brought them closer as a couple.

"It would have been very easy in the first year to just do it and get married. We could have pulled the trigger. But instead, we worked on our relationship until the point that we were absolutely ready for a wedding,” he said.

"The evolution of our relationship from start to finish has been crazy. There were ups and downs and difficult moments. But we've grown and we've evolved. Time has been our friend and it's made us even stronger,” Fletcher quipped.

The couple is now enjoying their romantic honeymoon in Greece.

"It was so incredible to finally celebrate," Fletcher told the outlet. "It sounds like a cliché but I truly married my best friend. Jordan has such a good heart and he is my biggest support system. I just feel so lucky."
