Winning consecutive NFL division championships has proven to be difficult, though the latest betting odds suggest the 2022 season could be an exception. Seven of the league’s eight reigning champions are favored to finish in first place next season.

The Buffalo Bills are considered to be the most likely division champion for the 2022 NFL season. Buffalo opened with -185 odds at BetMGM to win the AFC East.

Buffalo is one of four odds-on favorites to become a 2022 division champion. The Green Bay Packers are -155 favorites to win the NFC North, giving them the second-best odds in football. The Kansas City Chiefs have -140 odds to repeat as AFC West champions. The Dallas Cowboys have -120 odds for a second straight NFC East title.

The Bills have won back-to-back AFC East championships, ending the New England Patriots’ streak of 11 straight division titles.

Kansas City has the longest current streak in the NFL with six straight division titles. In four seasons with Patrick Mahomes as the starting quarterback, the Chiefs have never won fewer than 12 games.

Aaron Rodgers’ impending decision about his future with the Packers will have a significant effect on the betting odds. Green Bay has won three straight division championships, and the Packers could become even bigger favorites if Rodgers announces that he won’t request a trade.

The Tennessee Titans are barely division favorites with +100 odds. The Indianapolis Colts are their biggest challenger with +140 odds for the AFC South. Tennessee has won two consecutive division titles with six straight winning seasons.

The Los Angeles Rams are favored to win the NFC West, but the Super Bowl champs are expected to have stiff competition within the division. Los Angeles has +150 odds to win the NFC West, followed by the San Francisco 49ers (+230) and Arizona Cardinals (+320).

The Dallas Cowboys (-120) are odds-on favorites to repeat as NFC East champs. No team has won consecutive NFC East titles since the Philadelphia Eagles did it from 2001-2004.

Despite Tom Brady's departure, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+140) have the best odds in the NFC South. The New Orleans Saints (+220) won the division each year from 2017-2020.

The Baltimore Ravens are the only team that is a division favorite after failing to finish in first place for the 2021 season. Baltimore has +175 odds for the AFC North, putting the Ravens ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals (+200). Cincinnati won the AFC North title and nearly won the Super Bowl this past season.

The Bengals, Rams, Cowboys and Buccaneers were new division champs last season.
