Frank Gore will be wrapping his decorated NFL career in style by ending his run with the San Francisco 49ers.

The 38-year-old running back started his career with the Niners in 2005, a team that he played for until 2014.

Aside from the 49ers, the five-time Pro Bowler also had stops with the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

The veteran running back is reportedly working out details to sign a one-day contract with the Niners and then retire.

This was initially made known by the NFL via Twitter, which Gore also shared.

"We still trying to figure out when I'm going through my one-day contract to sign, do my retirement," Gore said on the TheSFNiners YouTube channel. "I told [owner] Jed York I always want to be a Niner. So we working on that right now."

Aside from being a five-time Pro Bowler, Gore is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame all-2010 team.

He has run the ball 3,735 times for 16,000 yards with 81 touchdowns, ranking him third on the all-time rushing list behind Emmitt Smith (18,355) and Walter Payton (16,726).

Aside from that, he has also recorded 3,985 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.

Although retirement beckons, Gore’s ties with the Niners could go beyond the one-day contract.

It appears that he together with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, are trying to see if there is a chance that the Florida native can land a job at the 49ers' front office.

"I love looking at talent," Gore said in a report via USA Today. "I love evaluating talent and I love ball. And they know that I know football players, what it's supposed to take to be a football player."

Apart from football, Gore is also into boxing. He has been into the sport since 2005.

In December of last year, he faced former NBA player Deron Williams in an exhibition bout.

It was one of the undercard matches of the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley II showdown at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Williams won over Gore via split decision with the scores of 38-37, 37-38 and 40-35.

"He won the fight tonight. He fought hard. I fought hard. I just still have to learn some stuff. He did a good job tonight. We'll see if I fight again. I had fun tonight. I'll go back and talk to my team to see what's next," Gore told ESPN.
