The NFL trade deadline is just three days away, and there has been plenty of chatter as to where some players may ultimately end up.

Most teams could be in the market for an upgrade. The Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns look certain to miss the AFC playoffs, while the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals seem assured of missing out on the playoffs in the NFC.

While the Indianapolis Colts look like they are out of contention with a 2-5 record, their schedule is a bit less arduous with dates against the Raiders and Giants, as well as two against the vulnerable Tennessee Titans. The Browns, despite being a longshot to reach the playoffs, could still be buyers.

Some notable players could still be on the market despite their teams claiming they are staying put.

Patrick Peterson

The Cardinals' star cornerback said Wednesday his trade request "came at a bad time" and chalked it up to frustration. The Cardinals have a 1-6 record and are expected to miss the playoffs for a third straight year.

Peterson, who reportedly "desperately" wanted to be traded, met on Tuesday with team president Michael Bidwill, according to sources. The two parties appeared to have straightened things out, but should general manager Steve Keim have a change of heart, Peterson, who has two years remaining on his contract, would be on top of most teams' wish lists.

The Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles may have the most interest in the 28-year-old.

DeVante Parker

Trade speculation likely intensified this week after the exceptional performance by the wideout in the Miami Dolphins' loss to the Houston Texans. The Dolphins, essentially battling for a wild-card berth since the Patriots seem poised to take the AFC East, may not like their playoff chances in a deep conference.

Parker may be a prime candidate to be dealt because of his size and speed. The 25-year-old also hasn't exactly been an ideal fit in Miami.

According to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, the Eagles are interested in Parker. The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero noted that it would take a third-round pick to acquire Parker.

Demaryius Thomas

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Broncos have entertained offers for Thomas, though local reporter Mike Kilis reported that Thomas is likely to stay in Denver.

John Elway may commit to a rebuild should the Broncos lose to the Chiefs on Sunday. That means Thomas, and even Emmanuel Sanders, could be on the trade block.

Thomas has a $12.5 million salary-cap hit this year and a $17.5 million hit in 2019, which means the 30-year-old could be used as a rental.

The Eagles and Browns are considered the top buyers in the market and could have the most interest in Thomas. The Eagles are hoping to make another Super Bowl push, while the Browns have plenty of cap space.

Karl Joseph/Gareon Conley

ESPN insider Chris Mortensen was told by Raiders head coach Jon Gruden that the team is done making trades. It may be tough to resist making another deal, however, considering the market for secondary help. With Peterson perhaps off the market, there might be heightened interest in the Raiders' pair by Tuesday afternoon.

NFL insider Jason La Canfora claims the Eagles, Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers have shown interest in Conley. But the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport claims that while Joseph is available Conley is expected to stay put.
