The betting totals range from 39.5 all the way up to 56.5 on the NFL Week 5 schedule. The Cardinals, Bills, Cowboys and Buccaneers are all scoring more than 30 points per game through the first month of the 2021 season. The Steelers, Texans, Bears, Dolphins and Jets are averaging fewer than 17 points per contest.

Here are the five best over/under bets for Week 5. Betting odds come from FanDuel Sportsbook.

New York Jets vs. Atlanta Falcons (London) Under 46.5

Eight of the last 10 matchups overseas have totaled no more than 45 points, and half of those games featured a team scoring 10 points or fewer. Even as Zach Wilson and the Jets had their best offensive performance, by far, in Week 4, New York still only scored 24 points in regulation. In their one game against a defense that ranks in the top half of the league, the Falcons scored six points.

New Orleans Saints at Washington Football Team Under 44.5

All four of the Saints’ games have gone under the betting total in regulation. Jameis Winston is averaging the fewest yards per game of any quarterback who’s made four starts. Taylor Heinicke completed fewer than 60% of his passes for just 212 yards in his one start against an above-average defense. Both Washington and New Orleans rank in the top-third of the league in opponents’ yards per carry.

Chicago Bears at Las Vegas Raiders Over 44.5

It was probably no coincidence that Justin Fields and Chicago’s offense were much improved in Week 4 when Matt Nagy relinquished play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. Although it is better than recent years, Las Vegas’ defense still isn’t particularly good. The Bears gave up 34 points in their only matchup against a top-10 offense. The Raiders rank fifth in yards per game and have scored more than 30 points in both home games.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Over 52.5

Few NFC quarterbacks are playing better than Daniel Jones and Dak Prescott. Prescott is an early MVP candidate, leading the NFL’s No. 3 offense with an impressive 116.9 passer rating. Jones is the reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Week. The Giants’ quarterback is seventh in passing yards, and his only interception came on a Hail-Mary attempt. Both offenses rank in the top eight in yards per play, and neither defense is better than 22nd in yards per play allowed.

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens Under 46.5

Baltimore’s defense has been terrific since starting the season against a pair of top-five offenses in Kansas City and Las Vegas. The Ravens have given up 24 total points in the last two games, and Carson Wentz is probably worse than either starting quarterback Baltimore faced in those victories. Wentz doesn’t rank better than 22nd in passing yards, yards per attempt or passer rating. The Colts haven’t scored or given up more than 28 points in any game.
