Former “19 Kids and Counting” stars Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar may soon be the proud parents of 20 kids. Court documents show the couple was granted temporary guardianship of an 8-year-old boy in August.

According to report from In Touch Weekly, released Wednesday, legal documents show Jim Bob, 51, and Michelle, 50, are caring for the son of Michelle’s 23-year-old troubled niece, Rachel Nicole Hutchins, with the rumored intention to legally adopt him.

Hutchins, who agreed to give the Duggars guardianship of her son, is said to be “homeless” and on probation for an arrest on felony charges in April. Documents show the boy doesn’t have a putative or natural father on record.

While the boy hasn’t officially joined the Duggar clan, the devout couple is due back in court in November to secure permanent guardianship. A source told the magazine they’re hoping to move forward with a proper adoption after that date.

If Jim Bob and Michelle do adopt, the boy will be the 20th child in their family. The couple’s biological 20th child, daughter Jubilee Shalom, was stillborn in 2011. Jim Bob and Michelle’s current offspring range in age from 28 to 6.
