Two people were killed and three others wounded in a pair of shootings near a party in New York.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to multiple calls about shootings near a party at Wortman Avenue in East New York, reported WABC-TV. Responding officers found one person shot at the party and three others shot inside a silver Infiniti sedan parked on the corner of Georgia and Wortman avenues. It is not known if the fifth victim was shot inside or outside the party.

The party had a gathering of 100 to 150 people, said Brooklyn North's Borough Commander, Assistant Chief Judith Harrison, at a news conference. At some point, a verbal dispute broke out and "an unknown male" with a firearm began shooting, reported CNN.

Novada Bailey, 36, had gunshot wounds to his face, chest and arms. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. The second victim, Nicholas Palmer, 36, who suffered a gunshot wound to his head died too.

A 51-year-old man, who was shot at to his right forearm, upper back and chest was listed in critical condition. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital along with a 32-year-old victim, who also had gunshot wounds to his neck and chest, reported CNN.

"People were rushing to get out when they heard the gunshots," said a witness to the WABC. The witness also added that the Infiniti crashed during the shooting.

The fifth victim, a 37-year-old man who was shot in the right shoulder, drove himself to Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle, where he is currently in stable condition.

No arrests have been made yet and a probe was launched in connection with the shooting. It is not clear if all the victims were targeted.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward to help them in this investigation. "We know there's some videos out there we know people saw what happened," said Deputy Chief John Chell at the conference.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting linked to the party is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
