“Once Upon a Time” Season 5 just started, and the ABC series has no plans on slowing down the drama. The premiere episode threw in a shocking twist when a flash-forward back to Storybrooke revealed that the group of heroes failed at saving Emma (Jennifer Morrison) from turning dark. But what exactly went wrong in the Enchanted Forest? Fans will learn more in episode 2, “The Price.”

The synopsis for episode 2 reveals that Regina (Lana Parrilla) “steps up in a surprising way” to help protect Emma. However, her good intentions might throw her back on the side of evil.

Meanwhile in Camelot, things take a “deadly turn” at a royal ball being held by King Arthur (Liam Garrigan) and Queen Guinevere (Joana Metrass). The ball is to welcome the Storybrooke heroes to Camelot … however it appears as if someone or something wants one of the members of the group. It’s up to David (Josh Dallas) and Robin (Sean Maguire) to “leap into action or lose a crucial asset in the fight to save Emma.”

After exposing a little more about what happened in Camelot, episode 2 will jump forward again to Storybrooke. Right now the only things that “Once Upon a Time” viewers know is that no one from the trip to Camelot has their memories anymore, and that something triggered Emma to embrace her new role as “The Dark One.” Of course, Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) is set to do anything in his power to bring Emma back from the darkness. He’ll put a plan into place in an attempt to trigger the light in Emma. But Emma is far from Storybrooke’s only problem. The synopsis teases that “some unexpected baggage” followed the heroes home from Camelot.

“Once Upon a Time” Season 5, episode 2 airs on ABC on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. EDT. Check out some sneak peeks from “The Price” below:
