But, a new set of spoilers reveals that a surprising turn of events would happen in “One Piece” Chapter 972 that would very well answer a lot of questions.

Orochi Screwing up Oden’s Deal With Kaido

In “One Piece” Chapter 971, Oden asked Kaido to promise him that he would set free those who would survive the execution. The captain of the Beast Pirates agreed with the deal and ordered him to survive the pot of boiling oil to be free. But, it appears that there would be a surprising twist of events in “One Piece” Chapter 972.

As revealed by a Reddit user, Orochi, the current Shogun of the Wano country would screw Oden’s deal with Kaido in “One Piece” Chapter 972. It seems that when Kaido and Orochi realized that Oden could survive an hour in the boiling pot of oil, they changed their minds. The tipster claims that Orochi would decide to change the manner of execution, and instead of boiling them alive, he would execution them by shooting.

When Oden heard this, he throws out the board he is carrying on his shoulder where his nine scabbards were lodged. The Daimyo wants his retainers to run as far away as possible and to help him realize his dreams for the Wano country. Kaido, according to the tipster, decides to kill Oden by shooting him as his final compassion to the Daimyo of Wano.

Oden’s Final Message And Letter To Toki

The tipster also reveals that Oden ultimately wants to open the Wano country should he survives the execution. The Daimyo of Wano admits that it was his family who wanted to close the country to protect it from a strong power. Oden also says that Wano, along with the rest of the world, is waiting for a certain someone who will show up after crossing 800 years. He adds that he wants Wano to welcome and assist this person, thus, his vision of opening up the country once again.

Upon learning Oden’s death, Lady Toki would open the letter her husband left to her in “One Piece” Chapter 972. The letter is Oden’s admission that if he could not defeat Kaido, then no one would be able to defeat him in the current timeline. The Daimyo of Wano also asks his wife to use her power when Wano experiences a very long winter.
