The Wano Country arc is one of the most exciting stories of the popular manga “One Piece.” Over the past weeks, fans were intrigued when Oda teased about Kaido’s son Yamato. With “One Piece” Chapter 983 already available, fans learned more details about the mysterious new character in the series that could have a crucial role on how things will turn out for Luffy and the rest of the gang.

“One Piece” 984: Yamato Is Not Kaido’s Blind Servant

In the most recent offering of “One Piece,” fans learned that like what most fans predicted, Yamato is not a blind servant of his father. Several indicators hinted about this in earlier chapters, but “One Piece” 983 highlighted this when he attacked Ulti, one of the Flying Six’s members who was, at that time, fighting against Luffy. Yamato also took Luffy under his arm and fled the scene that sent many Beast pirates wondering what their young master was doing.

“One Piece” Chapter 984 Spoiler: Yamato’s Power And Attack

In the latest chapter of “One Piece” fans witnessed one of Yamato’s attacks. Interestingly, he uses one of the attacks that his father used on Luffy in their previous encounter, the Thunder Bagua. It is called Raimei Hakke ( 雷鳴八卦 ), which literally means Thunderclap Eight Trigrams.

When making this attack, Yamato moves at a blinding speed and swings his massive Kanabo. He hits the target horizontally, using a significant amount of power. Kaido’s son was first using the Thunder Bagua attack on Flying Six’s member Ulti.

Interestingly, given this brief display of power, some fans think Yamato is as strong as his father. Others, however, think his power level could be on par with King or Queen. In relation to Yamato’s power, some fans noticed that he is wearing cuffs around his wrists that come with a short chain attached to each.

Some fans claimed that this could be an indication that Yamato has these cuffs because he could not control his true power. This, however, led other fans to believe that Kaido’s son is Oden. At present, there is a school of thought in the fandom claiming that Oden is not really dead but just hiding as Yamato, just like other members of the Kozuki clan.

In the most recent “One Piece” chapter, Kaido’s son is shown as a tall man, which could be twice Luffy’s height. He wears a Hannya mask and has a long light wavy hear that reaches on his waist. In “One Piece” chapter 983, Yamato sports a long goatee on his face. He is garbed in Kimono and wears a pair of sandals and hakama pants.

Meanwhile, the manga will take a break next week. Apparently, “One Piece” chapter 984 will drop on Jul 6, 2020.
