The OnePlus 6T might be announced on Oct. 17. OnePlus

The OnePlus 6T is expected to be announced next month and some of its features have already been confirmed by OnePlus. Now, a partial render of the upcoming OnePlus phone has surfaced online and it seemingly confirms the handset’s rear camera setup.

The partial render of the OnePlus 6T was shared online by WinFuture. The site claims that it received the render from a “trusted source.” The image shows the top portion of the back of the handset. It also shows that the device will still have a dual-camera setup on its back like the OnePlus 6. There were early rumors that the 6T might arrive with triple cameras on its back, but this render may have already debunked those claims.

Another interesting thing about the render is that it doesn’t have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 6’s fingerprint sensor is located just below the dual-camera module. For the OnePlus 6T, only the LED flash can be seen and there’s no fingerprint sensor in sight.

This shouldn’t be a huge surprise since OnePlus already confirmed last week that the OnePlus 6T will arrive with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the display. That being said, it now seems very likely that this render is legit and it gives everyone their first glimpse at the OnePlus 6T in its “mirror black” color option.

In addition to sharing the partial render of the OnePlus 6T, WinFuture also made a side-by-side comparison of the device with the OnePlus 6. It appears as though that the 6T will be slightly bigger in size compared to the OnePlus 6. This size difference may have been caused by the addition of the in-display fingerprint scanner on the 6T. The company did confirm last week that the 6T would also be 0.46 thicker than the 6.

The larger overall size of the OnePlus 6T will allegedly affect the OLED display on the handset. Apparently, the OLED display on the device will be 6.41-inches, which is slightly bigger than the OnePlus 6’s 6.28-inch display. The display resolution on the 6T is also believed to be 2,340 x 1080. The OLED display’s size and resolution are the same as those of the Oppo R17 Pro, which may have been a huge influence on the 6T’s design, as pointed out by Android Authority. The only thing that hasn’t been confirmed is whether or not the 6T will have a “waterdrop” notch on top of its display.

The OnePlus 6T is expected to be officially announced sometime next month. It’s being speculated that the handset might actually be announced on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
