  • The Oppo Ace 2 boasts of fast wireless charging technology
  • Oppo Ace 2 is the company's first wireless charging-capable device
  • Oppo will be available starting April 20

Oppo has finally lifted the covers off the much-talked-about Oppo Ace 2. The device is the successor of the Reno Ace and the official specs of the device are pretty impressive. It comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset but the big difference for the latest Oppo flagship is that it will be the first phone armed with wireless charging.

The Oppo Ace 2 will also be 5G ready but the real difference-maker for this is the wireless charging capability. Making it even better is that it is reportedly the fastest wireless charging device around pegged at 40W that is made possible by the AirVOOC charger it comes with, GSM Arena reported. According to Oppo, the device can get a complete charge in only 56 minutes. Wired charging for the Oppo Ace2 will still be present and equally impressive. The device can charge fast as well with the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 is used.

As for the other specs, the Oppo Ace 2 offers an impressive lot as well. Outside, it sports a 6.5-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. At the top left corner of the display is a 16 MP front-facing shooter, one that should easily appeal to folks who want a reliable and high-quality snapping selfie camera.

Heading to the rear of the Oppo Ace 2 will render a quartet of cameras that should make image and video capturing a joy. There is a 48 MP main camera accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide snapper, and two 2 MP macro and depth sensors. To aid the Snapdragon 8675 SoC, buyers will be given a choice between an 8 or 12 GB RAM compliment. Storage is pretty much the same with folks being offered a 128 and 256 GB ROM, The Verge reported.

The Oppo Ace 2 will come with a 4,000 mAh battery and have the usual features common today. That includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6 and NFC. The device will run on Android 10 with ColorOS 7.1 on top.

The Oppo Ace 2 will be available in purple, grey and silver and priced starting at $565 for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM model. The 8 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM will cost slightly more at $625 while the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM will cost $650. Pre-ordering is already underway with the device expected to start selling on Apr. 20. No word if the Oppo Ace 2 will be available globally for now.
