The 2020 Oscars was filled with celebration and recognition for some of the most talented actors in film. Although the stars were recognized for their skills, some of their red carpet choices were questionable.

While some celebrities made stunning style statements on the red carpet, others experienced fashion fails. One of the best-dressed stars of the night was Scarlett Johansson. The 35-year-old wore a satin champagne Oscar De La Renta gown featuring a sheer fishnet bodice

Johansson’s performances in “Marriage Story” and “Jojo Rabbit” earned her nominations for best actress and best-supporting actress, respectively.

“Working with Noah Baumbach and Taika Waititi, respectively, has given me such deep artistic satisfaction; ‘Marriage Story’ and ‘Jojo Rabbit’ are two great highlights of my career,” the actress said following the Oscars nominations.

“I am deeply humbled by the Academy’s recognition of my work, which would not have been possible without the support of the incredibly gifted actors and writer/directors that I’ve been so fortunate to collaborate with.”

Meanwhile, “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot skipped the typical ball gown look for a Givenchy ensemble featuring a sheer black lace top, and a floor-length pink tulle skirt. The actress’ fashion choice stood out on the red carpet and not in a good way.

Gadot’s outfit didn’t seem to fit with a prestigious event like the Academy Awards. The sheer top didn’t seem appropriate, but the tulle skirt just seemed like a bad addition to an already terrible outfit.

Elsewhere, Brie Larson was winning on the red carpet with her pink champagne Celine dress, which featured silver embroidery, and a matching floor-length cape.

Along with being a presenter for the night, the actress also had a role in the Oscar-nominated movie “Avengers: Endgame.” The movie earned a nomination for best visual effects.
