Naya Rivera's family and co-stars marked the one-year anniversary of her death Thursday.

The "Glee" star drowned in a lake outside Los Angeles on July 8 last year when she went swimming with her 4-year-old son, Josey. The boy was found alive, while Rivera's body was found five days later.

Yolanda Previtire, the late actress' mother, told "Good Morning America" on Thursday that it was difficult to explain what the family was going through on a daily basis after the tragedy.

"Sometimes we're afraid of the sorrow being so heavy that we're afraid for our own self, 'cause this is hard," Previtire said, adding that the family is undergoing therapy after the traumatic incident.

"I literally wake up every morning, and it's almost like a restart button, and I have to shake it off … one foot at a time. And here we are," Previtire explained.

Rivera's "Glee" co-stars also took to Instagram on Thursday to remember her.

Heather Morris shared a series of photos and videos of the late actress, including one where she was getting a tattoo on her hand. The tattoo reads "Tomorrow is not promised."

"It hasn't gotten easier to write a caption," she wrote. "You are the brightest star in my eyes Naya Rivera. I'm so grateful GOD LAYED A HAND and brought us together as best friends, mom friends, scene partners, and everything in between. Your legacy lives on in kindness and being 'that sassy queen' in my eyes. I love you forever bebe girl."

Another co-star, Kevin McHale, shared a beautiful photo of Rivera and wrote, "I miss you. Every single day."

Jenna Ushkowitz posted a gorgeous photo of the late actress performing on stage and wrote, "Always a light, always with us. My heart is with you and your family today. Love you Nougs."

Tahj Mowry, who dated Rivera between 2000 to 2004, also shared a black and white photo on Instagram. "January 12, 1987 – July 8, 2020," he captioned it.

"She's in a better place," he told "Entertainment Tonight." "I'm good. Out of the utmost love and respect for her family, it's always hard for me to even speak about how I feel about it because it's nowhere near the pain that her mother, her sister, her brother, her father, her ex-husband, her son, had to deal with and are still dealing with."
