“Outlander” fans can’t wait to see Brianna finally meet Jamie, her biological father. However, actress Sophie Skelton wants fans to remember that Brianna has a lot of complicated feelings about her dad.

The 24-year-old explained that Brianna might not be all that emotional when she meets Jamie (Sam Heughan) on the Starz drama. “As relieved as she is to finally find Jamie — in that moment I think she thinks of him as just being one step closer to finding her mother,” Skelton told TV Insider. “He’s just a friendly face but when Bree sees Claire [Caitriona Balfe], it’s more emotional.”

That isn’t the only reason she’ll be a bit detached. Laoghaire (Nell Hudson) met Brianna and told her some lies about how Jamie didn’t want her and sent Claire away because she was pregnant. Though Laoghaire is clearly not to be trusted, Brianna can’t help but wonder if it’s true.

“Laoghaire put into her mind that Jamie might not accept her. So there’s so much going on in her head,” Skelton added.

Then, while speaking to Vanity Fair, Skelton reminded fans that Brianna has a lot of love for Frank (Tobias Menzies). Sunday’s episode revealed her guilt about his death and even showed what looked like a ghost of Frank giving her an encouraging smile before she boarded a ship. However, Brianna is still torn between her dads.

“I know a lot of people want a quick fix and a sort of reunion between Jamie and Brianna,” she said. “But I think people have to remember that Frank really did raise Bree and he did a very good job. There’s that guilt she feels going back. She feels like she’s betraying him.”

That’s not to mention everything else she’ll go through just before meeting Jamie. Readers of the books know that Brianna has a traumatic journey to her parents. As previously reported, Balfe teased that audiences will likely feel emotional while watching the reunion, even if Brianna doesn’t.

“It comes at a very sad time in terms of the arc of what Brianna’s going to go through, and the audience is still going to be feeling that through Bree,” Balfe told the Hollywood Reporter. “But there’s a lot of emotions going on in that scene. I think it will hopefully do justice for the book’s readers and to everyone else.”

“Outlander” Season 4 airs Sundays at 8 p.m EST on Starz.
