“Outlander” Season 5 ended on a happy note for Roger and Brianna. The couple finally reunited after Roger returned and said he’d accept the baby as his own. However, actress Sophie Skelton hinted that there are likely still obstacles they’ll have to overcome.

“I have a feeling there will be some difficulties, but obviously we don’t know any of that yet,” Skelton told TVLine.

Brianna was relieved to see Roger (Richard Rankin) in the Season 4 finale of the Starz drama, but don’t forget that part of the reason they were separated was because of their big fight. Roger had seen the death notice for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe), but he never mentioned it to Brianna. That’s why she stormed off in the first place, and they’ll probably have to address that eventually.

“They haven’t really sat down and had any conversations yet,” Skelton reminded viewers. “They left on a big fight, and they haven’t even talked that out, and now they’ve got a baby to think of, too… They could put everything that happened aside, or it could complicate things and make things harder.”

Skelton, however, remains optimistic for Roger and Brianna. “Hopefully, they’ll be OK.”

Though they are already filming, the “Outlander” cast can’t say much about Season 5. However, executive producer Toni Graphia previously hinted that there would be more growing pains for the Frasers as they adapted to their new family dynamic.

“[Jamie and Claire] didn’t get to raise a child together and as you know with parenthood, once a child arrives, it’s a different dynamic,” Graphia told Variety. “Suddenly Claire’s loyalties are very torn. She’s actually lived with Brianna for 20 years, which is longer than she’s been with Jamie. So suddenly she’s torn between her husband and her daughter.”

“Outlander” Season 5 does not have a premiere date.
