Sam Heughan is in the middle of filming “Outlander” Season 5, but he used a night off to support a good cause. The Scottish actor hosted a special event at Buckingham Palace, and he wore a kilt.

Of course, Heughan was the perfect choice to host an event that showed off the talent at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Heughan is an alumnus, having graduated from the acting program in 2003. The institution offers education in music, dance, drama, production and film.

Heughan posted a photo to his Instagram to show off the event. He noted that the students and graduates performed for Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, who is a patron of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. While Heughan noted that he was honored to be asked, he added how well the performers did.

“The students and graduates did the Conservatoire proud, entertaining the distinguished guests all in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales,” he wrote. “Scotland has some real talent and was delighted to share it with them that evening. Thanks to all the performers.”

The Prince’s Foundation works with the school to provide “progressive teaching in strings and modern ballet to children and young people in Ayrshire from Dumfries House,” according the RCS website.

This was not Heughan’s first time meeting the Prince of Wales. The “Outlander” actor first met the future King of England at the RSC in May. “I’m very honored to be back here at the Royal Conservatoire to welcome His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales,” Heughan shared in a video on RSC’s social media. “It really was an amazing day, a great honor, and for him to see the students as well was really rewarding.”

Heughan’s fans love to see his charity work, but they also enjoy seeing him in a kilt. “Outlander,” the Starz historical drama, introduced Heughan as Jamie Fraser, an 18th century Scottish highlander. He was always in a kilt at the beginning of the series, but it’s a rare occurrence these days.
