  • Ruth’s journey will be important in “Ozark” Season 4

  • Karma will catch up to the Byrde family

  • The show has yet to be renewed

Ruth (Julia Garner) appears to be getting a bigger role in “Ozark” Season 4. Executive producer Chris Mundy teased some details about the plot of the next season in a recent interview, and revealed how Ruth’s journey will be important.

After the bloody events on the show, Ruth will have to think about what she really wants in her life. The TV series is yet to get picked up for another Season, but Mundy told Entertainment Weekly what the fans can expect from the show if it returns.

Mundy said that Ruth will have to think about whether she can create something by herself that is sustainable. As far as the Byrde family is concerned, they have to think about how they can turn “ the biggest mistake of their lives into this huge advantage.” There will be consequences for what the members of the family have done, and the show will explore how karma can catch-up to them.

Although the producers have an idea about what stories will be featured on “Ozark” Season 4, the work hasn’t yet started officially. In a previous interview with Collider, cast member Jason Bateman, who plays Marty Byrde, revealed that it takes a minimum of 12 months from writing the scripts to finishing the postproduction work for the show. The amount of work that goes into making the TV series means that the fans will have to wait a while before it returns.

Bateman admitted that it can be frustrating for the fans to wait for a whole year to watch the show after binge watching an entire Season over a weekend. He pointed out that things are easier for fans of the broadcast shows where it takes about two months to watch a Season because the audience gets one episode each week, and then the wait for the show does not seem too long after the finale.

It remains to be seen what new plot twists the producers will come up with when the show returns. According to a theory by Screen Rant, one of the surprises of the show can be about Wendy’s (Laura Linney) brother Ben (Tom Pelphrey) returning in “Ozark” Season 4.
