  • Ozzy Osbourne forays into NFTs
  • Cryptobatz to launch in January
  • A pre-sale for the project is open

Singer-songwriter Ozzy Osbourne has announced that he will be entering the world of NFTs with the upcoming ‘Cryptobatz’ collection next month, joining a slew of younger celebrities cashing in on the tech fad.

The former Black Sabbath lead singer, who assumed the moniker "Prince of Darkness," will unveil 9,666 unique NFT bats, including onstage moments from the heavy metal heyday.

“I’ve been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while so when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, I decided to create my own,” Osbourne told RollingStone UK.

“CryptoBatz is a fucking mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays tribute to one of my most iconic onstage moments and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it!" he added.

As per an official release, each Cryptobat will provide collectors with a unique occasion to birth an additional NFT with the aid of a new feature, which if activated will allow them to mutate their purchase with another NFT from their digital wallet.

A pre-sale for the project is open through the CryptoBatz Discord channel. Further 2,500 guaranteed CryptoBat pre-sale whitelist passes are guaranteed through the same channel. Successful applicants will also be able to mint up to three CryptoBatz per digital wallet starting February.

NFTs gained widespread popularity this year and now has a market cap of over $21 billion. Industries have started adopting NFTs in one way or the other.
