UPDATE 3:56 p.m. EDT: A person of interest is in custody.

UPDATE 2:51 p.m. EDT: Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office arrived at Paine College around 2 p.m. Monday to respond to the reports of an active shooter on campus. They met with witnesses and one victim who was described as having non-life-threatening injuries, according to WJBF. The Paine College campus is still on lockdown.

Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, is on lockdown Monday afternoon following reports of an active shooter on the campus. Augusta ABC affiliate WJBF reported that one person was injured and in the emergency room following the incident.

The suspect has neither been identified nor captured, according to WJBF.

The active shooter investigation is the second time in as many days that there was a gun-related incident on the Paine College campus. On Sunday, the school was also under lockdown after someone discharged a gun on campus, according to this post on the Paine College Facebook page.
