Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf helped Democratic nominee Joe Biden bring in nearly $1.6 million in donations during a virtual fundraiser on Wednesday, Politico reported.

The fundraising event for Biden was co-hosted by Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey. The event is projected to bring in at least $3 million for the Biden campaign.

Biden has seen a surge in fundraising following his announcement of California Sen. Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential running mate. In the 48 hours after Biden named Harris as his running mate, the Biden campaign raised $48 million.

In the fundraising race, the Biden campaign has been catching up to President Trump. In July, Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $165 million, while Biden and the Democratic National Committee took in $140 million. Yet, Biden has erased Trump’s cash-on-hand advantage.

The Biden campaign has planned to spend $280 million on TV and digital ads in the fall, targeting 15 key states.

The Trump campaign has spent a large amount on digital ads during the Democratic National Convention, targeting sites such as YouTube.

Recent general election polls show Biden with a strong lead over Trump. An Economist/YouGov poll released Wednesday showed Biden beating Trump by 10 points, 50% to 40%.
