Penny Marshall, who’s best known for starring as Laverne DeFazio in ABC’s “Laverne & Shirley,” died Monday night. She was 75.

The cause of death was complications from diabetes, TMZ reports.

“Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall,” the actress’ family said, according to the outlet. “Penny was a tomboy who loved sports, doing puzzles of any kind, drinking milk and Pepsi together and being with her family.”

Before landing her “Laverne & Shirley” gig in 1976, opposite Cindy Williams, Marshall worked on other shows, like “The Odd Couple” and “Paul Sand in Friends and Lovers.” Her most recent acting gig was in 2016, on the new rebooted version of her “Odd Couple” series, which starred Matthew Perry.

Aside from acting, the comedian, who’s brother was director Garry Marshall, also worked behind the scenes as a director and producer. Most famously, she directed 1988’s “Big,” the 1992 family flick, “A League of Their Own” and 2001’s “Riding in Cars with Boys.”

She’s survived by her daughter, Tracy Reiner, who’s also an actress.
