“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt may not have been able to make it to the 2015 People’s Choice Awards, but he still managed to support his wife, Anna Faris, during her co-hosting duties. The actor, who reportedly stayed home with their young son, was featured in the hilarious opening sketch for the award show.

Set up like a sitcom, the sketch showed Faris and Pratt inside their “home.”

“Hey, Hun? You know how I’m doing that People’s Choice Awards thing,” Faris asked her husband in the skit.

“Yeah I turned that down,” replied Pratt as he studied a script on the couch.

“Oh, well, I didn’t,” Faris told him, moving a giant stack of scripts so that she could sit next to her husband. “Um, listen. I would really appreciate it if you could make a teeny little appearance.”

The sketch pokes fun at Chris Pratt’s booming career. In 2014 the 35-year-old actor starred in box office hits “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Lego Movie,” both which were nominated for awards at the People’s Choice Awards. He’s starting the New Year with the summer release of “Jurassic World,” and the final season of his long-running NBC comedy, “Parks and Recreation.”

As we noted earlier, Pratt was not on hand at the event, and remained at home to take care of their two-year-old son following eye surgery. Faris kept a positive outlook on the evening prior to the event, telling Entertainment Tonight that she was looking forward to walking the red carpet with her “Mom” co-star and awards show co-host, Allison Janney. Janney appeared in the final moments of the sketch as their new “doting” nanny. Watch the video below:
