A dog owner was mauled to death by his pet during a medical episode at his home in Manchester, England, on Wednesday.

According to local reports, the man, identified as 35-year-old Jonny Halstead, was bitten by his dog when he collapsed at his home while suffering a medical episode.

Confirming the incident, a police spokesperson said, "Shortly before 2 p.m. local time (9 a.m. EDT) on Wednesday, Jan. 29, police were called to a report that a man had been bitten multiple times by a dog at a property on Duckworth Street, Shaw, Oldham. Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a 35-year-old man. The dog was destroyed by officers at the scene.”

The body was sent for autopsy.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for his funeral costs.

“No one expects this to happen at such a young age. After knowing Jonny for over 20 years I’m asking if anybody could spare anything possible to ease the pressure on his family in this heartbreaking situation. Jonny was loved by everybody, I’ll remember him for the many memories we had together as I’m sure many of you will do so I’m asking to please let’s pull together and give him the best send-off deserves,” said Scott Nield, the organizer of the GoFundMe page.

The incident comes a few months after a woman was mauled to death by her pet dogs at her home in Widnes, England. Neighbors of 44-year-old Elayne Stanley heard her daughter’s screams and rushed to her home only to find the dogs biting the woman. The neighbors then tried to fight off the dogs and successfully managed to lock the canines in the backyard. The woman, however, succumbed to injuries at the scene.
