In a tale of canine heroism from India, a pet dog saved her owner from a snake by putting her own life on the line. The dog battled the snake by picking it up and throwing it on the ground in repeated motions until it finally died, say reports.

The incident happened in a village in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh over the weekend. The owner of the Indie breed dog, named Julie, was sitting in the yard, blissfully unaware of the reptile creeping up near him. However, Julie's eagle eyes caught the movement of the snake.

Without a moment's hesitation, Julie flung herself on it and started fighting it. Paltu, a local who was witness to the incident, said that the dog had put her own life at risk since the snake was a venomous one.

Dogs are known to be man's best friends, and thus, stories such as this one are not new.

In July, Eva, a dog of the Belgian Malinois breed, became famous all over the United States for saving her owner from a mountain lion. Her owner Erin Wilson had been taking a walk near the Trinity river when she was attacked by the lion, and Eva came running to fight it off.

As a result, the dog suffered two skull damages and a sinus cavity puncture. She was also severely harmed in one eye. Eva, who passed away a few days back, gained widespread applause from people.

In yet another event that took place in Lopburi, Thailand, a brave dog named Hand dived inside a pond to save a tiny puppy named Soh. In a clip, the little pup was seen playing in a yard when it accidentally fell inside a pond. It tried to remain above water level by kicking its legs frantically but to no avail.

In this situation, Hand was seen running to the spot. When he saw no human present to rescue the little one, he dived into the pond and pulled the pup to safety using his mouth.
